IF I DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICIAN, WHO WILL REFER ME?
If you do not have a local physician, our hospice program can provide you with a list of professionals in the community.

HOW IS HOSPICE PAID FOR?
- Hospice services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, most major insurance companies and managed care providers.
- We never turn away families in our community who do not qualify under an insured option.
- Thanks to the generous support of many individuals and donors in our community, our hospice program and community bereavement services are available to all regardless of ability to pay.

HOW DOES SOMEONE DETERMINE THE RIGHT TIME FOR HOSPICE SERVICES?
If you are concerned with end of life issues or have received a terminal diagnosis from your physician, it is the right time to talk with Hospice.
When diagnosed with an advanced illness, there may be many needs for you to consider, and hospice care can help with many of these concerns. We are expertly trained in providing a continuum of care, resources and services that will help your family cope with the medical, social, emotional, and spiritual issues surrounding the circumstances of advanced illness including advance care planning, in-home medical support and issues of grief and loss.

AM I STILL ELIGIBLE FOR HOSPICE CARE IF I LIVE IN A NURSING HOME OR ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENCE?
Our agency is associated with many nursing homes and assisted living residences in the Napa Valley, and our hospice care available for these patients and families.

IS NAPA VALLEY HOSPICE A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION?
Napa Valley Hospice & Adult Day Services is a non-profit organization with paid professional staff. However, through the Medicare Reimbursement Benefit, we are required to rely on volunteers for 5% of our staffing needs. Our generous group of volunteers are well-trained, always professionally supervised, and work as a part of our hospice team.

We have 99% family satisfaction for our hospice program and invite you to speak directly with someone who is familiar with the services we provide.
