Volunteers in our Hospice, Transitions and Adult Day Services programs are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. As such, Hospice and Transitions Volunteers visit with patients in their place of residence, and Adult Day Services Volunteers come to our facility to visit with participants.
Patient and participant volunteers provide friendly visits, companionship and emotional support, and at times provide "respite" for caregivers and help with errands and transportation.
Sometimes volunteers may provide Spiritual Presence to patients who are dying and/or provide support to a family member during or following a loved one's death.
In all programs, we have opportunities to volunteer in the Canine-Assisted Therapy program, which offers patients and participants contact with pre-certified Canine-Assisted Therapy teams to uplift their spirits.
Organizational Support Volunteers contribute as front desk greeters, skilled office and computer support, or offer general support by helping with mailings, special events, and fundraisers.
